You implemented all of the advice in the last few articles. You created a lead magnet, you put it everywhere, but your email list isnāt growing. People arenāt opting in...Now what?
There are 3 reasons why your lead magnet isnāt converting:
1. Your lead magnet is NOT valuable enough. In order for someone to give you their email address they have to believe that what you are offering is the solution to the problem theyāre currently struggling with.
Solution: Scrap the entire thing and go back to the drawing board. Read this article āWant to generate more leads?ā and create a better solution.
2. Your lead magnet IS valuable enough but, your landing page isnāt conveying the value.
Solution: Fix the landing page, specifically the copy. Keep reading, we are going to show you exactly how.
3. If your lead magnet IS valuable and your landing page DOES convey the value and it STILL isnāt converting, then you are putting it in front of the wrong people. More than likely they are not your ideal or right fit clients. They donāt need your solution.
Solution: Figure out where your ideal client is spending their time and put your lead magnet there.
Creating a quality lead magnet takes time and effort. Most just slap together a different version of the same shit and throw it out into the universe hoping it will stick. If at all possible, we donāt want to start from scratch. Instead troubleshoot, test and reiterate.
Here are 5 ways to increase landing page conversions plus a BONUS
1. Headline/ Sub-headline (aka the hook)
This is arguably the most important component of your landing page. You only have one opportunity to win their attention and convince them to stick around and see what you are offering.
The headline is to get their attention. The sub-headline should paint them a clear picture of the promised outcome of what you are offering. Use specifics.
Example: "Over The Next 42-Days, Our Transformation Experts Are Going To Help You Lose 4 - 6 % Body Fat Without Restrictive, Fad Dieting!"
2. Benefits not Features
A common mistake on a landing page is to only list the features of the offer and not detail how these features will benefit the buyer. People make buying decisions off of benefits. āFeatures Tell, Benefits Sell.ā Even though your lead magnet is free, you still need to sell it.
3. CTA
The best CTAās reiterate the core offer. Rather than just say āClick Hereā or āDownload,ā instead remind them of the promised outcome. āClick here to lose 4% body fat in the next 42 days.ā
4. Social Proof
We often see nutrition coaches under utilizing the power of social proof. The importance of social proof cannot be overstated enough. Gathering social proof takes time. "The best time to plant a tree is 10 years ago, the next best time is right now." If you donāt have any social proof yet, start gathering it ASAP!
Provide social proof in the form written testimonials, videos, media mentions, text and photos. You want to provide as much social proof as possible as long as it does not take away and become a distraction to the offer.
5. Overall Appearance
Pictures should be relevant to the offer and help them visualize the benefits. Images need to be high quality without filters. Your fonts should be clear and easy to read. CTA buttons should be eye-catching, colorful and strategically positioned multiple times throughout the page making it easy to opt-in wherever possible.
